Intention (SMART Goal)

By May 10, as Programmer, I will have evidence Programming by refining mechanics in our online multiplayer shooter by listening to tutorials like this for Session 5.

PRE-PRODUCTION – INQUIRY

Leader(s) in the Field / Exemplary Work(s)

https://www.youtube.com/@GilbertGames

I choose this YouTuber because they make really comprehensive but complex tutorials. These tutorials help with many problems because we are making similar but very different FPS games. Gilbert is a smaller youtuber who has tutorials on the fps game/demo he made. Really calming music in the background also helps for a easier time learning.

POST-PRODUCTION – REFLECTION

21st Century Skills

Ways of Thinking (Creativity, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving)

I was creative with my work by solving problems and bugs with the code that I have done. Things like swapping around a audio source player to a audio clip player or looking up how to use the recoil that was not one to one with our project.

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

I collaborated with my team, always communicating if I was going to be absent, and talking with my team and John (the other main programmer) about problems I was having. We collaborated with everyone else by getting balance feed back and figuring out how we can make our game better.

Tools for Working (Info & Media Literacy)

I looked things like the recoil up when I was having trouble. Going through Unity documentation to find instances of scripts components or even using this edublog to show the steps of my process.

Ways of Living in the World (Life & Career)

This session will further my abilty to gain skills in my life. Collaborating and hitting deadlines is something I worked on for this session where I completed everything I need to do for our game and helped out when I could when I did not have tasks.

Reactions to the to Final Version

None yet, showing our game soon.

Self-Evaluation of Final Version

Our game was simple being easy to understand and to comprehend when playing.
Our game was unexpected because we had mechanics that are unique to our game (when you miss a shot it creates an effect
Our game was concrete as it did not have bugs and was playable to a good extent
Our game was credible because we used our work and knowledge to build the game
